For those who hasn’t seen the pilot episode of Libot Pilipinas challenge, I accepted the challenge to tour all the 81 provinces of the Philippines on 2 wheels, within 3 years. And so we can properly monitor the progress of our challenge, we’ll put MoTour markers the provinces that we have visited and cross out those on the list. Exciting right? Last time, as a starter trip of the challenge we visited the province of Quezon particularly in Atimonan. Today, our next destination is the province of Batangas and Cavite. And we will ride to Taal Basilica, the biggest church in Asia and one of the oldest that is still standing today. We’ll have breakfast first at Sinangag Express in Tagaytay, then to Taal, where we will also have our lunch. It’s been raining for the past few days, that’s why when the sun showed itself, I had a big smile on my face. My scooter was dwarfed by the big bikes of my fellow riders. I’m with my uncle and his friends who also likes to ride. We stopped at Talisay market for comfort break and some selfies. We were hungry and decided to leave for Tagaytay for our breakfast. We took Ligaya drive which can also be called chicken intestines for obvious reasons. Look. You’ll be facing a lot of inclined curves which added to the challenge. If your motorcycle is not that powerful, and you’re a newbie, find another route. When a vehicle stops in front of you, while on a steep incline, using a motorcycle, goodluck balancing it. At last, we reached the main road of Tagaytay. While riding there, there were only a few vehicles. But I noticed that traffic is getting worse here as time went by. Well, that’s natural on developing cities. And this is Sinangag Express. I often pass by it but it;s my first time to eat here. They are known for Silog meals. That food was good, but I noticed the staff were easily confused on orders. Maybe they got too distracted by our good looks. There’s also a group of riders who took pictures with us. Well, actually, with our motorcycles. The big bikers floored it passed us in no time We mistaken one rider to be one of us, which was actually not and it slowed us down. The riders needed caffeine so we stopped by Starbucks in Twin Lakes. “It’s nice to have a rest house here.” I know right? We’re not leaving for Taal. On my left is Fantasy World It was supposedly the Disneyland of the Philippines. However, it was not finished due to financial issues, we heard. But you can still tour it, for 1,000 pesos for a group of maximum of 10 people. If you’re alone, it’s still 1,000 pesos. And here is the church. It’s my first time here, even on four wheels. When we got there, the vendors swamped us. On a recent earthquake, this church was damaged. There was a part of it that collapsed. As you can see, it’s really old. Let’s go inside. Which part here collapsed during the earthquake? Is it on the top? “The one that looks new.” “The flower, the one that has a different color.” Oh that’s right. There’s still a cement. Aren’t you afraid it might happen again and fall on you? There was a wedding when it happened?? Good thing no one was hurt. The wedding stopped. There are lots of food surrounding the church like this fried squid which according to them was really delicious. I wasn’t able to try because I’m allergic. We had lunch at Taal Bistro restaurant and ate much Tawilis and Chopsuey. On our way home, we took Cuenca route. There’s this shortcut that looked like going to the jungle. Narrow Dark Lots of trees and surrounded by high grounds Because the road was too narrow, when you 2 vehicles meet, this happens. It was traffic at Lipa city but after that, it’s was smooth riding. These are the moments that you feel tired but more of happy. It’s really nice to tour, especially when the journey going to your destination has an added thrill. I know that there are still lots of wonderful places to visit here. Don’t worry, we have a chance to revisit them. But for now, we officially toured Batangas and Cavite on 2 wheels!
